According to information from the UNHCR, almost 8 million Ukrainians have left the country since then, and over 90,000 of them have been registered in Austria and have found protection here.

After the beginning of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) founded a specialized department under the name “Team Ukraine” to develop and implement assistance, integration offers, and networking opportunities for displaced persons from Ukraine. In this way, it was possible to quickly develop a demand-oriented integration offer for this target group.

One of the first services offered by the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) included a free information hotline that provides advice for displaced Ukrainians on the most important contact points for care and orientation in Austria in Ukrainian. In addition, information is provided via email, WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, and Facebook.

The offers for displaced persons from Ukraine were quickly expanded. The career platform (Karriereplattform) of the Austrian Integration Fund brings job-seeking Ukrainians together with Austrian companies. The Buddy Program connects Ukrainian children and young people with people of the same age from Austria. The format “Meeting Point Ukraine” (Treffpunkt Ukraine) in all integration centers of the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) throughout Austria offers displaced persons from Ukraine the opportunity to exchange ideas with volunteers, community representatives, and staff of the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF). The staff of Team Ukraine answers questions about accommodation, residence status, opportunities for language acquisition, and labor market integration. In addition, interpreted seminars were offered for women and mothers with different focuses, such as women’s and family health, the labor market, a workshop on coping with stress and trauma with a therapist, a seminar with a Ukrainian-speaking gynecologist, women’s consultation hours, etc.

Upon receiving their residence card, displaced persons from Ukraine can make an appointment at one of the nine integration centers of the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) in the provincial capitals and receive a suitable German course there. The courses are available free of charge for all language levels from A1-C1 and conclude with a state-recognized examination certificate. In addition, together with renowned Ukrainian universities in Lviv, Drohobych, and Uzhhorod, as well as language learning centers, new online course spaces have been created for Ukrainian displaced persons in Austria. Following the course attendance, all participants of these online German courses have the opportunity to complete the courses with state-recognized Austrian integration exams. Online learning units for displaced persons from Ukraine also take place regularly. Basic vocabulary and speaking exercises are conducted by German trainers together with Ukrainian interpreters.

Over 14 months ago, on February 24th, 2022, Russian troops invaded Ukraine unprovoked and without a declaration of war. And although Russia’s war against Ukraine had been waged since 2014, it was unthinkable to many in Europe that such a brutal war of invasion could take place in Europe again.

The Russian attack against Ukraine is first and foremost an attack on the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian statehood, but it is nonetheless an attack on the democratic values of the European Union. In view of this, it becomes clearer every day that the full extent of the war and its consequences remain unforeseeable.

За інформацією УВКБ ООН, від початку війни майже 8 мільйонів українців покинули країну, а понад 90 тисяч з них зареєструвалися в Австрії та знайшли тут захист.

Після початку російської загарбницької війни проти України Австрійський інтеграційний фонд (ÖIF) заснував спеціалізований відділ під назвою «Team Ukraine» для розробки та впровадження допомоги, інтеграційних пропозицій та мережевих можливостей для переміщених осіб з України. Таким чином, вдалося швидко розробити інтеграційну пропозицію, орієнтовану на потреби саме цієї цільової групи.

Однією з перших послуг, запропонованих Австрійським інтеграційним фондом (ÖIF), була безкоштовна інформаційна гаряча лінія, яка надає консультації переміщеним українцям щодо найважливіших контактних пунктів для догляду та орієнтації в Австрії українською мовою. Крім того, інформація надається електронною поштою, та через WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram та Facebook.

Пропозиції для переселенців з України були швидко розширені. Кар’єрна платформа (Karriereplattform) Австрійського інтеграційного фонду об’єднує українців, які шукають роботу, з австрійськими компаніями. Програма Buddy об’єднує українських дітей та молодь з людьми такого ж віку з Австрії. Формат «Meeting Point Ukraine» (Treffpunkt Ukraine) у всіх інтеграційних центрах Австрійського інтеграційного фонду (ÖIF) по всій Австрії надає переміщеним особам з України можливість обмінятися ідеями з волонтерами, представниками громад та співробітниками Австрійського інтеграційного фонду (ÖIF).

Співробітники Team Ukraine відповідають на питання про проживання, легалізацію свого перебування, можливості для оволодіння мовою та ринок праці. Крім того, були проведені семінари для жінок і матерів на різні теми : здоров’я жінки та сім’ї, ринок праці, семінар з подолання стресу і травми з психотерапевтом, семінар з україномовним гінекологом, години жіночих консультацій тощо.

Отримавши посвідку на постійне проживання, переселенці з України можуть записатися на прийом до одного з дев’яти інтеграційних центрів Австрійського інтеграційного фонду (ÖIF) у столицях провінцій та пройти там відповідний курс німецької мови. Курси доступні безкоштовно для всіх мовних рівнів від A1-C1 і завершуються визнаним державою екзаменаційним сертифікатом. Крім того, спільно з відомими українськими університетами у Львові, Дрогобичі та Ужгороді, а також центрами вивчення мов були створені нові онлайн-курси для українських переселенців в Австрії.

Після відвідування курсу всі учасники цих онлайн-курсів німецької мови мають можливість пройти курси з визнаними державою австрійськими інтеграційними іспитами. Онлайн-курси для переселенців з України проводяться регулярно. Базову лексику та розмовні вправи німецькі вчителі створюють спільно з українськими перекладачами.

Війна Росії проти України

Понад 14 місяців тому, 24 лютого 2022 року, російські війська вторглися в Україну неспровоковано та без оголошення війни. І хоча війна Росії проти України ведеться з 2014 року, для багатьох у Європі було немислимо, що таке жорстоке вторгнення може знову відбутися в Європі.

Напад Росії на Україну – це, перш за все, напад на український народ та українську державність, але, тим не менш, це напад на демократичні цінності Європейського Союзу. З огляду на це, з кожним днем стає все зрозуміліше, що повний масштаб війни та її наслідки залишаються непередбачуваними.
