Cookies Policy

§1 Definitions

1) Administrator – the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies, based in Warsaw at 85 Solec Street, postal code: 00-382 Warsaw, KRS 0000010303 (IES), which provides services electronically and stores and accesses information on the User’s devices.
2) Cookies – means computer data, in particular small text files, recorded and stored on devices through which the User accesses the Website.
3) Administrator Cookies – means Cookies placed by the Administrator, associated with the provision of electronic services by the Administrator through the Website.
4) External Cookies – means Cookies placed by the Administrator’s partners, via the website of the Service.
5) Service – means the website under which the Administrator runs the Internet service, operating in the domain sadeczanin.info.
6) Device – means an electronic device through which the User gains access to the websites of the Service.
7) User – means an individual for whom, in accordance with the Regulations and legal regulations, services can be provided electronically or with whom an Agreement for the provision of services by electronic means can be concluded.

§2 Types of Cookies used

1.Cookies used by the Administrator are safe for the User Device. In particular, this way it is not possible to get into the Device Users viruses or other unwanted software or malware. These cookies allow to identify the software used by the User and to customise the Website for each individual User. Cookies usually contain the name of the domain they come from, the time they are stored on the Device and the value assigned to them.
2.The Administrator uses two types of cookies:
a. Session cookies: they are stored on the User’s Device and remain there until the end of the session of the given browser. The stored information is then permanently deleted from the Device memory. The mechanism of session cookies does not allow collecting any personal data or any confidential information from the User’s Device.
b. Persistent cookies: they are stored on the User’s Device and remain there until they are deleted. Ending the session of a given browser or switching off the Device does not delete them from the User Device. The mechanism of permanent cookies does not allow collecting any personal data or any confidential information from the User’s Device.
3.The User has the possibility to restrict or disable the access of cookies to his Device. In the case of using this option, the use of the Website will be possible, except for functions which by their nature require cookies.

§3 Purposes for which Cookies are used

1. The Administrator uses own Cookies in order to correctly configure the service, in particular to:
a. Adjusting the content of the websites of the Service to the User’s preferences and optimising the use of websites of the Service;
b. Recognition of the device of a User of the Website and its location and appropriate display of a website adapted to his/her individual needs;
c. Saving settings selected by a User and personalizing User interface, e.g., in the scope of a chosen language or region from which a User comes from;
d. Saving the history of visited pages on the website in order to recommend content;
e. Saving the font size, design of the website, etc.;
2. The Administrator uses its own Cookies to authenticate the user on the site and to ensure a user session on the site, in particular to:
a. maintaining a session of the User of the Website (after logging in), which allows the User not to enter the login and password again on each subpage of the Website;
b. correct configuration of selected functions of the Service, enabling in particular verification of the authenticity of a browser session
c. optimising and increasing the efficiency of the services provided by the Administrator.
3. The Administrator uses its own Cookies in order to fulfil processes necessary for the full functionality of the websites, and in particular to:
a. adapting the content of the Website to User preferences and optimising the use of the Website. In particular, these files enable recognition of the basic parameters of the User’s Device and appropriate display of the website, adapted to his/her individual needs;
b. correct operation of the partner programme, enabling in particular verification of sources of redirection of Users to websites of the Service.
4. The Administrator uses its own Cookies to store the User’s location, and in particular to correctly configure selected functions of the Website, making it possible to adapt the information provided to the User taking into account his/her location.
5. The Administrator uses its own cookies for the purpose of analysis and research as well as audience auditing, and in particular for creating anonymous statistics which help to understand how the Website’s users use the Service’s websites, which makes it possible to improve their structure and content.
6. The Administrator uses its own cookies to provide advertising services, and in particular to adjust advertisements of services and products of third parties presented through the Service.
7. The Administrator of the service uses external Cookies in order to log into the service by means of the social networking service via Facebook Connect (administrator of external Cookies: Facebook Inc with headquarters in the USA or Facebook Ireland with headquarters in Ireland).
8. The service administrator uses external cookies to log into the service by means of the Google social network (administrator of external cookies: Google Inc. based in the USA).
9. The service administrator uses external Cookies to popularise the service by means of social networks Facebook.com (administrator of external Cookies: Facebook Inc based in the USA or Facebook Ireland based in Ireland).

§4 Possibilities of defining the conditions for storing or accessing Cookies

1. The User may, independently and at any time, change the settings relating to Cookies, specifying the conditions for their storage and access by Cookies to the User Device. The User can change the settings referred to in the previous sentence in the Internet browser’s settings or by configuring the service. These settings can be changed in particular in such a way as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the settings of the web browser or inform on their placement on the User’s device each time. Detailed information on the possibility and methods of using cookies is available in the software settings (web browser).
2. The User may at any time delete Cookies using the available functions in the preferred web browser.
3. The restriction in the use of cookies may affect some of the functionality available on the Website.
