Mission of The Polish Tourism Organisation

31st Economic Forum Partners contributions

The Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna – POT) is one of several dozen national tourism organisations operating in the world. Our objective is the promotion of Poland as a modern attractive country offering tourists a high standard of services and appealing prices. We carry out work focused on the promotion and development of Polish tourism both at home and abroad.

We organise national stalls at the largest tourism fairs held both in Poland and abroad, at which the exhibitors include representatives of the industry and self-governments.

  • We cooperate with regional and local tourism organisations. Jointly, we embark upon undertakings aimed at increasing interest in Polish towns, regions, and tourist products among domestic and foreign visitors. We also organise numerous promotion events, seminars, training sessions and issue promotional publications about Poland.
  • Brochures published in 12 languages promote active, health, and business tourism, and highlight the tourist assets of towns and regions, including historical monuments and sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List as well as other attractions, which might be of interest to the potential tourist.
  • The Polish Tourist Organization is also responsible for implementing the Polish Tourist Voucher project. The tourist voucher can be redeemed throughout the country, paying with it for hotel services, tourist attractions, organized recreation for children and young people, or day trips without an overnight stay, including a package of at least two services.
  • The Tourist Voucher supports Polish families and, at the same time, the tourism industry during the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is an electronic document entitling you to the amount of PLN 500 for each child, which you can use until the end of September 2022. The Tourist Voucher can be used by families that have at least one child under the age of 18.
  • In addition, the PTO is implementing the PTO’s Certificate of Good Practices project. This is an innovative, free-of-charge project run by the Polish Tourist Organization to confirm the high quality of services provided by tourism entities.
