Startup Award 2017 Competition [RULES and REGISTRATION]

In 2017 the Startup Award competition will be settled for the third time. It is a competition for young entrepreneurs looking for funds for the implementation of their innovative ideas. The competition aims to promote best practices in the field of innovation used by Polish entrepreneurs. The competition is designed for entrepreneurs and project teams. 

The prize pool is PLN 100,000.

The projects will be selected by analysts from Startup HUB Poland – the Essential Partner of the Investment Forum.

The deadline for submitting works is to April 14, 2017.



76 companies signed up for the last year’s edition of Startup Award. “Each finalist represented the highest level. I have the impression that each of the projects presented in the competition has a future “- publicist Michal Karnowski emphasised (wSieci Weekly) on behalf of the jury. Startup Award winners in 2016 were the authors of the LGM project. “We have a simple innovation. We generate more power from existing facilities. We generate so much because everyone needs it. We can get it by increasing efficiency and pulling limits of the existing generators “- explained Justyna Wysocka-Golec, co-owner of the company LGM. The prize – a check in the amount of 100 000 PLN – was handed by Speaker of the Polish Senate Stanislaw Karczewski. The prize was founded by PKN Orlen, the Economic Forum and the City of Tarnów.


Jury decided to give an honorary award to Sidly company that produces telemedical devices, such us wristbands for people with dementia that can monitor body temperature and control the use of drugs.

Among the finanlists there were also: 3D Creator (3D printer from Malopolska with innovative technology that enable examining fumes generated by the device and eliminate their harmful properties by converting into carbon dioxide); Dr. Omnibus (individual and therapeutical game for autistic children); Platforma Komunikacji Mobilnej (Platform for Mobile Communications – geolocation solutions for industrial applications).
