The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management for over 30 years has been initiating and supporting activities dedicated to the environment and energy transformation. It finances and co-finances pro-ecological projects. It has already allocated PLN 270 billion for this purpose, almost two thirds of which comprise of its own funds. The support from the NF&EPWM is used by entrepreneurs, local governments and state administration, as well as universities, NGOs and individual consumers. For years National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has been the leader in the process of implementing programs contributing to the improvement of climate and the quality of life in Poland.

The Clean Air programme, energy, transport

The activity of the Fund –  is known to the public mainly due to the implementation of programs such as “Mój Prąd” – includes whole spectrum of topics/issues significant to the protection and improvement of the environment in Poland, for example: transformation towards a low-carbon economy, low-emission transport, adaptation to climate change, improvement of air quality, circular economy, improvement of water and sewage management and nature protection. Through constant continuation of tasks crucial for the civilization and economic development of our country National Fund effectively uses its own resources as well as the EU funds. It also acts as the National Contact Point for the LIFE Programme in Poland. Financing investments from the Modernisation Fund resources (in the amount estimated at approx. PLN 26 billions) is carried out within the framework of priority programmes of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. The scope of support will include priority areas such as: production/use of energy from RES, improvement of energy efficiency, energy storage, modernisation of power grids, initiative for coal regions in transition.

The NF&EPWM offers also other diverse forms of financing. In addition to the popular grants and preferential loans there are capital investments, interest subsidies on bank loans, partial repayment of bank loans and amortization. It is worth knowing that apart from the voivodeship funds for environmental protection and water management the NF&EPWM cooperates with Bank Ochrony Środowiska S.A. and a number of other public institutions.

E for ecology, E for effects

Projects and initiatives financed by the National Fund translate directly into measurable environmental effects and consequently into benefits for the economy and society.
