The 6th European Congress of Local Governments will be held in Mikołajki on 6-7 December 2021. The Masurian resort for two days will become a centre for exchanging ideas and experiences of representatives of European regions.

The European Congress of Local Governments is the most important event in Poland dedicated to regional policy. The Congress is already well established. It regularly attracts the most important figures of national and foreign self-governments, central authorities and business. The previous, 5th Congress was attended by some 2,300 participants from almost 40 countries, including more than 100 journalists. Until 2019, the congress was held in Krakow. This year, for the first time, local government officials from all over Europe will be hosted by the Masurian city of Mikolajki. The main partner of the event will be the Marshal’s Office of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.

The theme of this year’s congress will be “Europe after the pandemic: How to rebuild the local economy?“. Among the most important topics which will be discussed during the panels will be: financing the development of regions, smart solutions, cross-border cooperation and creating favourable conditions for investment. The substantive programme of the conference includes over one hundred events, which have been divided into thematic tracks, such as Business and Management, Innovation, Society, Interregional Cooperation or Sustainable Development.
