DATA PROCESSED BY THE FOUNDATION INSTITUTE FOR EASTERN STUDIES

The Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies respects the right to data protection of its customers and visitors to the www.forum-ekonomiczne.pl website (the Website). This Privacy Policy for data processed by the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies (IES Privacy Policy) contains information required by the provisions of Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR).

What data are processed when visiting the Website?

Data from users visiting the Website can be ranked according to how it was collected:
• Information provided voluntarily by the user – we ask you to enter your personal data – service users using, among other things, the following forms:

a) registration forms for conferences and events organised by IES;
b) subscription forms for newsletters and other information with marketing content;
c) registration forms for a webinar or other online events.
• information obtained through the use of the Website, in particular:
• information in server logs – servers automatically record such data as page request sent by a user, date and time of the request and response sent, device data (e.g., hardware model), browser type, browser language, operating system type etc.;
• information collected by the relevant Google Analytics tools in the process of monitoring website visit statistics, including, among other things, navigation, location and user traffic on the website;
• the computer’s IP address;
• text files (“cookies”) sent to the computer’s user when visiting a website.

For what purposes and on what basis do we process data?

• in the case of registration for conferences and events organised by IES, the basis for processing your data is the legitimate interest pursued by the IES, which is understood to mean the organisation of statutory events of the IES (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR);
• if you wish to receive newsletters and other information with marketing content, the basis for data processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR);
• in the case of registration for participation in a webinar or other online event organised by IES in order to identify the sender and in order to register for the event, the legal basis for the processing of your personal data is the necessity of the processing for the performance of the contract for the provision of the service (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR), and in order to realise the Administrator’s legitimate interest consisting in examining the satisfaction of event participants (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
• Your personal data saved in cookies located on your Device together with its cache may also be processed for the purpose of marketing services provided by the Administrator and its Partners. These data are processed on the basis of your voluntary consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Detailed rules on the processing of personal data stored in cookies can be found in the appendix to this Privacy Policy;
• Your personal data is also processed when required by law, e.g., tax law regulations (Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR).

How long will your data be processed?

• in case when the data processing is based on your consent, data will be processed until you withdraw your consent;
• in case when the basis for data processing is the legitimate interest of the Controller until you make an effective objection;
• in case when the data are processed for tax and accounting purposes, to the extent and for the duration required by the applicable legislation.

With whom can we share data?

Your personal data may be shared:
• with entities that will process personal data on behalf of the Administrator, in particular with entities providing hosting, IT service, operators of services by means of which online events are conducted, etc.;
• at the request of entities entitled to do so by law, e.g., to the relevant law enforcement authorities;
• to the Administrator’s partners for marketing purposes on the basis of your consent and also in the cases specified above on the basis of the Administrator’s legitimate interest.

Rights in relation to data processing:

You are entitled to the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data:
• the right to demand access to data;
• the right to demand the rectification of data;
• the right to demand removal of data;
• the right to ask for the restriction of data processing;
• the right to object to the processing of personal data;
• the right to complain to the appropriate supervisory authority about the processing of personal data.

If your data are processed on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent. Withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.


Transfers of data outside the EEA

Personal data with the IES as the Administrator are generally not transferred to third countries, outside the European Economic Area (EEA). However, some of the IT service providers delivered to the IES (e.g. such as Facebook) may be based outside the EEA, additionally, in the case of online events, personal data may also be processed outside the EEA by the service provider through which the event is conducted. Where data is transferred to an entity that is established outside the EEA, these entities are required to apply the standard contractual clauses adopted by the Commission (EU) or to participate in the “Privacy Shield” programme established by the decision of the Commission (EU) 2016/1250 of 12 July 2016 on the adequacy of protection provided by the EU-US Privacy Shield.
