The Krynica Economic Forum 2020 and Pandemic-related Restrictions

The Ministry of Health decided to introduce additional sanitary and epidemiological restrictions in almost 20 districts in 6 voivodeships. They also covered the area of the Nowy Sącz district, where Krynica-Zdrój is located. We look very positively on the decision of the Ministry of Health, announced on 6th August. The introduction of sanitary rigour should allow for the rapid control and stabilization of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Poland.

The Krynica Economic Forum 2020 will be held in Krynica-Zdrój in the second week of September. We have been preparing intensively for this event for several months now, taking into account the additional requirements provided for by the anti-pandemic legislation.

We cooperate with a medical firm, with which we have jointly created special procedures to organize a safe event. They are adapted to the changing reality.

Our congress and conference centre is separate and closed, consists of a complex of buildings with a total area of more than 10,000 m2. The infrastructure will be adapted to sanitary and epidemiological requirements (the organization of communication lines, capacity, proper ventilation and disinfection of premises).

During the Forum, everybody will have to wear masks or face shields, undergo temperature measurement and adapt to safety procedures. The internal law enforcement services and the special medical team will pay particular attention to the observance of the instructions for safe behaviour and the issues of social distancing.

We will also be prepared to perform tests on people with symptoms that may indicate COVID-19 infection.

We are monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis. We are in constant contact with the relevant services.

The epidemiological situation in Poland is very dynamic. The Ministry of Health has announced that the situation in the districts with stricter safety rules will be closely monitored and the list of “red” and “yellow” zones will be updated twice a week.

It is therefore difficult to predict what the situation will look like in the second week of September. However, the conclusions of the last six months allow us to assume that the decisive actions taken now will lead to a situation in which the level of restrictions in Krynica-Zdrój can be reduced to the national average. Thanks to that the Economic Forum 2020 will be held without any disturbances and with respect to all safety rules.

For almost 30 years, the Krynica Economic Forum has been a place of meetings and discussions. Recent months have shown that even the most advanced remote communication tools will not replace direct interpersonal relations. This is also proven by the opinions of our long-term partners. Nevertheless, with a wide audience every year interested in the Forum in mind, the most important events will be broadcasted online.

For several months now, we have been working on organising a project taking into account the increased sanitary and epidemiological standards. We are convinced that our experience and commitment will make the Krynica Economic Forum 2020 fully safe for our guests and the inhabitants of the region.
