Institute for Eastern Studies invites you to participate in the International Self-Government Forum 2010 entitled „Impact of Local Self-Government on the Regional Development in Poland, Germany and Ukraine”.
The Forum has been organized in Szczecin since 2004 as a two-day conference, and has transformed into one of the most important events in the region.
The two-days Forum has been organized in Szczecin since 2004. It has become one of the most important meetings of the government officials, representatives of the self-governments and scientists. Leading experts address the question of functioning, cooperation and financing of the self-governments.
In presence of practitioners –governmental officials, representatives of self-governments and scientists the most eminent issues of functioning, cooperation and financing of self-government are thoroughly discussed.
Self-Government Forum is organized with the purpose of sharing valuable experience and ideas between Polish and representatives of foreign governments, local self-governments, academic institutions and economists on self-government effectiveness, possibilities of development and straightening of international self-governmental cooperation.
Every year representatives of the Polish government, European Parliament, local self-governments and leading academic institutions take part in the Forum. This year participants from Ukraine and Germany have also been invited to share their experiences. Chairman of the Commission for Regional Development in European Parliament, Danuta Hübner – has already accepted our invitation and agreed to participate in the Forum.
Discussion of the International Self-Government Forum will be focused on the following topics:
