Debate “Poland-Western Balkans. Together Towards the Future”

Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies invites you to take part in the online debate “Poland-Western Balkans. Together Towards the Future”, which will be held on 22nd October at 3 pm. The discussion is a part of the project co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland in the framework of the grant programme „Public diplomacy 2020 – new dimmension”.

Project “Poland – Western Balkans. Together towards the future” project aims at presenting the important role of Poland in the European integration process of the Western Balkan countries. During the discussion, the participants will discuss Poland’s role in the Berlin process from the perspective of their countries. The issues of the impact of regional policies of the Western Balkan countries on relations with the EU and public perception of the European Union will also be addressed.

Almost 16 years of Poland’s membership in the European Union was a time of great economic boost and, most importantly, the growth of Poland’s importance in the international arena. Poland’s 2019 presidency of the Berlin Process – a crucial part of the European Community’s enlargement policy – and its highlight on Western Balkan Summit in Poznań is the best example of the Polish input to the development of EU. Poland wishes not only to be a promoter of the Western Balkans countries’ integration with EU, but also to share its experience regarding political, social and economic changes – an inseparable part of the integration process.
