Colonel Romualdas Petkevičius confirmed participation in the Europe-Ukraine Forum

Colonel Romualdas Petkevičius, Director of NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence, will attend this year’s 12th Europa-Ukraine Forum. Colonel will give an opening speech to the panel: Energy Security Issues in the NATO’s Eastern Flank.

Petkevičius graduated from a military academy in Riga, Latvia in 1990 with a degree in engineering. He joined Lithuanian Air Force in 1992 where he held various positions. In 2000 was appointed as Director of NATO Cooperation Department in the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence.

Later in his carrier, Petekvičius was appointed to the position of Defense, Military, Air and Naval Attaché to the United States and Canada.

Next, he has served as National Military Representative (NMR) of Lithuania to the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE).

Before his latest assignment Colonel Petkevičius held the position of National Liaison Officer to NATO HQ SACT.

The NATO ENSEC COE was established in Vilnus in 2013. It works as an advisory body in the field of energy security. It is composed of military and civilian experts from NATO and its partner nations. The Steering Committee guides the activities of the Centre through yearly based Programme of Work coordinated with NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT).
