Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum 2018

Live online! The 2nd Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum in Romania organized by Economic Forum partner – New Strategy Center and the city of Constanta.

Today starts the second edition of the international conference “Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum” will take place in Constanta between 14-16 June. The main organizer of the event it Romanian think-tank New Strategy Center, a long time partner of the Economic Forum.

During the three conference days, more than 70 speakers and moderators will debate the main security challenges from the Black Sea region and the Balkans: hybrid, cyber threats, the militarization of the Black Sea, energy or societal security and economical or financial challenges.

The Romanian Foreign Minister, H.E. Teodor Melescanu, Minister of National Defense of Romania, Mr. Mihai Fifor, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Iurie Leancă, Romanian Energy Minister, Mr. Anton Anton, senior officials from Poland, Georgia and Ukraine will attend the event, as well as the Governor of the Central Bank of Romania, Mr. Mugur Isărescu.

Also, senior military representatives will arrive in Constanta: the heads of defense in Romania, General Nicolae Ciucă, and from Italy, General Claudio Graziano, former head of NATO troops, General (Ret.) Philip M. Breedlove, Lieutenant General Jan Broeks, Head of NATO’s International Military Staff, Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano, Head of the Allied Force Staff of the Naples Command and Chief of the EU Command Element, as well as Counter-Admiral Jean-Frederic Plobner, Deputy Commander of the Mediterranean Maritime Zone of France.
