Angela Merkel’s Personal Representative for Africa will be the guest of the 27th EF

Günter Nooke, Angela Merkel’s Personal Representative for Africa, will participate in this year’s Economic Forum in Krynica.

In the course of the migration crisis, the economic development of Africa has returned to the global agenda. It’s about time: Africa, just behind Asia, is one of the most dynamically developing continents.

Günter Nooke, the Personal Representative of the German Chancellor for Africa in the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, will take part in a panel discussion on  the topic “Africa – Europe: How to Strengthen the Cooperation?”.

Before his current position at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Mr Nooke served as Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid. From 1998-2005 he was member of the German Parliament. As a oppositional civil rights activist he was involved in the peaceful revolution 1990 in the former GDR.
