The Economic Forum Program Council and the SAIS Center For Transatlantic Relations, Johns Hopkins University are honored to invite you to take part in the conference entitled "Forging a US-EU Strategic Partnership." The conference is to be held in Washington, D.C, December 9-10, 2009.

The aim of the conference is to create a platform of discussion of leading opinion leaders from both sides of the Atlantic to consider ways of forging a US-EU Strategic Partnership. In order to face the present day challenges, the US and the EU need to reform the way a number of issues such as climate change, security or global economic governance are addressed. The goal of the meeting is to discuss what should be changed to forge the transatlantic partnership.
The conference will include specific recommendations by various opinion leaders on a reformed U.S.-EU relationship, based on consultations with the Czech, Swedish and Spanish EU Presidencies and other EU member state governments, the U.S. Government, U.S. Congress, the European Commission and European Parliament.
