Russia’s Presidential Elections have been a subject of much speculation and debate.

The 4th Europe- Russia Economic Forum would have the ambition to be the first Forum after the historic inauguration of the new Presidency. Which forces will be vying for power and what are the various outcomes of the elections? What will be the impact on the business environment in their aftermath? Will the elections stifle or accelerate the impetus for any outstanding reform programme? On the EU side, strengthening the strategic partnership with Russia will continue to constitute a priority for the upcoming Presidencies, particularly in terms of a more effective EU-Russia energy dialogue in the framework of the successor to the Partnership and Co-operation Agreement and implementing the common area of freedom, security and justice with Russia.

The 4th Europe-Russia Economic Forum 2008 is part of the agenda of the Economic Forum held annually in Krynica (Poland) in the last 17 years. The main aim of the Forum is developing dialogue and cooperation among European Union countries and their neighbours and partners. During seventeen years of activity, the Economic Forum has become a major political and economic event in the region and a distinguished platform of discussion on a wide array of issues such as economy, politics, international security and society. Year after year, the Forum brings together Heads of State, members of governments, experts, eminent businessmen and social activists from renowned NGOs.

The co-organizer of the 4th Europe- Russia Economic Forum is ISPI (Institute for International Political Studies).

Participants
300 invitees from the EU, Russia and other non-EU countries, representing political parties, business companies, academic institutions, NGOs, consultancies and think-tanks.
