Zygmunt Berdychowski, President of the Programme Council of the Economic Foru:
We met during the Economic Forum in Krynica already for the 21st time and again it was a record-breaking meeting. Nearly 2600 guests, more than 500 journalists - these numbers confirm importance of discussion about the most important issues for our region. We have managed to establish tradition of meetings among the political and economic leaders of Central and Eastern Europe. These meetings are watched by entire Europe, which is proved by the strong presence of western media. It confirms that it is necessary, and in the interest of our entire continent, to share opinions and experience about thorough economic transformation taking place in our region and connections with the global economic situation. A proof of that is broad representation of presidents, prime ministers and ministers, who perceive Krynica as a chance for dynamic and safe development of their countries and a place where it is possible to find help in solving the problems they confront. That is why I believe that the effect of this year's meeting will be a better consensus, a broader cooperation offer and many new, joint initiatives, which are expected too build successful future of not only our region, but also entire Europe.
