Head of the Lviv Regional Council will be the guest of the 3rd European Congress of Local Governments

Oleksandr Hanushchyn, Head of the Lviv Regional Council, will be guest of the 3rd European Congress of Local Governments (Krakow, 27-28 March 2017).

Oleksandr Hanushchyn was a member of the Lviv Regional Council since 2006. Earlier, he worked in the Lviv Regional State Administration. Mr Hanushchyn is a member of Petro Poroshenko's Bloc "Solidarity”.

He was guest of 10th Europe-Ukraine Forum and 26th Economic Forum, where he was discussing the issues of interregional cooperation on the eastern border of European Union. He thinks that Lviv, as a border region, has to be Ukraine's gateway to West. "Unfortunately, instead of the gateway, we only have some small loophalls,” Hanushchyn said.

During the previous edition of the Europe-Ukraine Forum, he also spoke about the hopes that Ukraine placed in the lift of the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens by the European Union. During the 3d European Congress of Local Governments, Mr Hanushchyn will further develop the topic of cross-border economic areas.
